Five months into the year and you’re either struggling to stick to your fitness and exercise regimen or have given up completely. We all want to be fit and healthy, but somewhere along the way, we lose motivation and give up.
Sure, you want to lose weight, look and feel great. Yet, it’s a lot easier starting off than it is to maintain the fitness lifestyle. What is that other gym and fitness enthusiast know and do to stick to their regime day in and day out? How do they stay motivated?
For the purposes of this article, we shall be highlighting the top five ways to help stay motivated and stick to your fitness regimen without fail. Without further ado, let’s take the first step to a healthier lifestyle together.
Have A PlanLike anything else that you want to succeed, you need to have a plan. A plan highlights your exercise and weight loss journey and the type of exercise that will work for you. Breaking the journey into small sections, you can highlight your weight loss goals in specific time frames and periods.
Always Start SmallThis has a lot to do with goals and starting off your workout regimen. If you haven’t exercised for a while, the last thing you want is to go full throttle into exercising. In fact, this is one reason too many people lose motivation early into their exercise regimen.
Hire A Personal TrainerPersonal trainers can sometimes be pricey. However, given the fact that you are investing in your health, personal trainers are worth their cost in gold. They not only help keep you motivated, but they also instruct you on the type of exercises that are good for your body
Switch It UpAvoid sticking to one type of exercise, as this can get monotonous over time. Naturally, as human beings, change and variety keep us excited and motivated. So, switch up your exercise routines to keep things interesting and fun (Kailus). For instance, today you can an aerobic dance workout session, and the day after that, you can go swimming or run on the treadmill. Whatever you choose, go with what keeps you enjoy doing most.
Get Into Group ExerciseGroup exercise is where you get to workout with a group of people that have the same goal in mind. They not only provide much-needed motivation but also help challenge individuals while keeping them accountable (Joan Roth). It’s hard to stay at home and skip a workout when your group of workout buddies are waiting for you. Working out in a group also helps make it fun and act as a bonding activity. This will have you looking forward to the next time you get to exercise with them.
